Social Worker

Go Eagles!
Danielle Bowen

My name is Danielle Bowen and I am the Social Worker for the Brentwood School District. School social workers bridge the gap between home, school, and the community. My primary goal is to address barriers to success and to provide the supports and resources that students and families need to be healthy and successful.

As a member of the interdisciplinary educational team, I provide both direct and indirect services to students and their families to assist in resolving any social, emotional, and/or behavioral issues that may be hindering a student’s academic success. My services include, but are not limited to:

• Advocacy for students, parents, and the Brentwood School District
• Attendance monitoring and truancy intervention services
• Crisis prevention and intervention
• Home and community visits
• Homeless student coordination and support through the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
• Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and/or 504 Plan process as needed
• Referrals to community resources (e.g. food, housing, medical, clothing, tutoring, substance abuse resources, counseling, and domestic abuse support)
• Short-term individual and/or group counseling
• Skills-based group work with students (e.g. self-esteem, anger management, social skills, substance abuse, and coping skills)

Social work services are available to all students enrolled in the Brentwood School District through administrator, parental, teacher, and/or self-referral. If you have any questions regarding the social work services being offered in the Brentwood School District, or have any concerns for your child, please feel free to contact me.
